Process

The process

Initially the Checkout button appears in merchant's online store. The customer clicks the button to finalize payment.

Upon click, Valitor Checkout is opened and the customer inputs the card number used for the purchase and then the payment is made.

Please note that if the payment is not successful, Valitor will not inform the merchant.

If the payment is successful, the next step depends on whether the customer has provided an email address.

  • If the customer provided an email address, a receipt for the payment is sent to the address, the Checkout form then activated on merchant's website and data sent to it.
  • If the customer did not provide an email address, then the Checkout form initiation happens right away like in the previous step.

Security

Each merchant is assigned/allocated a public and private key to authenticate with Checkout.

All functionality takes place on Valitor's servers even though Valitor Checkout appears on the merchant's page and therefore no sensitive information goes through the merchant's page.

To verify the authenticity of the payment data sent to the merchant's form a digital signature is included with the data. See Communication with Checkout to know more about how to validate the payment response.
