2 - Process Description
To start sending recurring transactions one should first use web service HefjaSendingu (Start Transmission) which returns BunkiID (BatchID) that should be used in transmission.
Next the service SendaInn (Send In) should be called.
It is important not to send a new transactions before you have received a response confirming that the last transaction was successfully processed.
Our statistics show that it takes around 15 seconds to send one thousand transactions.
When all transactions have been sent, the next step is to call the service SendinguLokid (Transmission Completed). It is very important to perform this step, otherwise transactions will not be processed through the authorization system.
When the transmission is completed, it may take up to 24 hours for the Operations to process all transactions through the authorization system.
The web service NidurstodurSendingar (Processing Results) returns the status of the batch. If processing has not completed, then the service returns the error code: 352 - Keyrsla innsendra færslna er ekki lokið. (Batch processing has not been completed)
There are several additional services available, but they are not essential in the transmission of recurring transactions. Those services are explained in the web services chapter.

Web services might return additional error codes, not listed in the web services chapter, e.g. should the authorization request be performed immediately. Merchants should be prepared to receive new error codes without the need to update their systems. However, all changes of this type will be communicated to our partners ahead of time.
It is very important to call the service SendinguLokid (Transmission Completed), otherwise transactions will not be processed through the authorization system. Orphaned transactions will be deleted from the database on a regular basis.
